I know of many people who offer resume reviews for a hefty fee. There is no reason why you should have to pay someone to give you advice on how to improve your resume. If you want to have the individual make the changes for you, that’s different.
However, paying $50, $100, or even $150 simply for someone to tell you what’s wrong is ludicrous. Any professional resume writer should be able to tell you what’s wrong with your resume and what needs to be done to improve it within a matter of a few minutes.
Do you really need to charge someone for taking up 15 or even 30 minutes of your time? Resume reviews should come free. All you are investing is a bit of your time and words coming out of your mouth. That isn’t a whole lot of effort for someone with years of experience behind them.
